Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 8, 2026

Menumento is a personal food-tracking app that helps you remember your favorite restaurant, takeout, and delivery dishes. We keep the data we collect to the minimum needed to run the app, and your dishes are yours. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

The short version: We store the dishes, photos, and restaurants you choose to save so we can sync them across your devices. We use your location only to sort places by distance, and we don’t sell your data to anyone. You can delete your account and data at any time.

Who we are

Menumento (“Menumento,” “we,” “us”) is the developer of the Menumento mobile app for iOS and Android. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at support@menumento.app.

Information we collect

Account information

To back up and sync your data, you create an account. We use Google Firebase Authentication, which supports:

Content you create

The heart of the app is the information you choose to save. This includes:

This content is stored on your device and, when you’re signed in, backed up to your private, per-user space in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore for data and Cloud Storage for photos).

Location

With your permission, the app uses your device’s location for one purpose only: to sort your restaurants and dishes by distance from where you are. Your location is used on the device to calculate distances and is not tracked or stored as a location history. You can deny or revoke this permission in your device settings at any time; the app still works without it.

Camera and photo library

With your permission, the app accesses your camera and photo library so you can take or choose photos of dishes. It only accesses the photos you select.

Usage analytics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. This includes automatic information such as screen views and general device/app information, plus a small set of in-app events, for example: signing up, logging in and out, creating, editing, or deleting a dish (including its rating and whether it has a photo), marking a favorite, adding or deleting a restaurant, searching, viewing the upgrade screen, and starting, restoring, or failing a subscription. These events are used in aggregate and are not used to build advertising profiles.

Subscriptions

If you subscribe to Premium, the purchase is processed by the app store (Apple or Google) — we never receive or store your payment card details. We store your subscription status and expiry date in your account so the app knows to unlock Premium features. Purchases are verified through our secure server before Premium is unlocked.

How we use your information

How your information is shared

We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t share your saved dishes, photos, or notes with other users. We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to run the app:

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the app.

Where your data is stored and how it’s protected

Your data is stored in Google Firebase. Access is restricted so that each user can only read and write their own data, enforced by per-user security rules. We use Firebase App Check to help protect our systems from abuse. While no online service can be guaranteed 100% secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Data retention

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your authentication record, saved data, and photos are deleted (see Account & Data Deletion). Some anonymized or aggregated analytics may be retained.

Children’s privacy

Menumento is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll remove it.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data. To exercise any of them, email support@menumento.app.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes may be highlighted in the app.
